Availability of unlimited food and water
round the clock in a food corner in the house
within reach of children eliminates malnutrition.....
Observation I: - Our friend, Mr Crasto, rears pigs. Leftovers from restaurants are fed to these pigs. There is never lack of food.Pigs. defecate and urinate there & eat the same food. They eat & grow to 100- 150 Kg.
Observation II: - For hens in a poultry farm the grains and water is available round the clock. They are not malnourished and grow faster.
Observation III: - My daughter had gone to Egypt. Daily she feasted over new cuisines & gained 3 Kg in 3 weeks.
Observation IV: - We went to Sri Lanka for a week. sight seeing and feasting.. We all gained 1 to 1 ½ Kg in just one week.
Observation V: - Street children are malnourished when they start working in restaurants. They eat discarded food and become chubby in less than 6 months.
Lesson: - Unlimited food eliminates malnutrition. Keep the food in our homes within reach of children. It is wrong to deny food to these children in the name of so called cleanliness.
Observation VI: In Gujrat every house has a “CHABUTARA” a corner on terrace where they put grains and water for birds.
We need a corner in the house on the ground where food [snacks, roasted grams, groundnuts, puffed rice etc.], and water will be available to the children all the time. They take their own air, they will take the food and water they need and this will eliminate malnutrition.
Babasaheb Ambedkar asked for one village one water well for all. We demand one home one food corner for children.
